Continuous Replay with Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company

Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company

Continuous Replay is a seminal work of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company that began as an accumulation of 45 shapes created by Arnie Zane in 1977. It has seen many iterations – duet, group, solo. In 1991, three years after Arnie Zane passed away, Bill T. Jones expanded the work into the current version of Continuous Replay. It is a prime example of a work of rigorous form that also depends on the choices and agency of the performers. In this rep course, Continuous Replay will be set by members of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company and Associate Artistic Director, Janet Wong. Students will learn set material, task-based improvisation, and also the history of the company that spans 4 decades and is always in dialogue with the social/political discourse of the time.

After learning the work, students will perform onstage alongside Company members in this work. Please note, this class has limited capacity.
