Making Turn. Turning. Turnt
In a new work Turn. Turning.Turnt, Cynthia Oliver and her company COCo Dance Theatre will invite students into their ongoing process to build the work during their weeklong BDF residency. Oliver and company will explore the physical languages of the piece and its particularities of vocabulary – from double dutch rhythms, precisely crafted and flocking unison sections to dynamic rhythmic and driving improvisational scores that comprise this new work that will premiere in 2026, students will have a chance to exist inside this evolving material, contribute to the energies of the emerging piece, engage in our conversations necessary to our process, question its frames and premises, and grow intimately with us and the work as it develops.
